In an era where the craze for white collar job is on the increase, youths  in Osun State  have been implored  to utilize the opportunity provided  by the various skill acquisition Programmes being organised by IleriOluwa development Initiatives, an NGO of the wife of the State governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola. She added that, doing this will not only get them  economically  empowered but also allow them to be creators instead of searchers of labour.

The First lady gave the charge in Iragbiji ,the headquarters of Boripe local government Area of the state.

Speaking at the grand finale of a 5 day  skill acquisition training program organised by Ewa beads and sponsored by IleriIOluwa Development Initiatives, her NGO, Mrs Oyetola implored the youths to take advantage of the opportunity so as to be on their own rather than depending on government paid jobs which are now very competitive to get.

At the Programme where Mrs Oyetola was represented by the wife of the SSG,Mrs Bose Oyebamiji, participants were trained on skills like  liquid soap making,Izal, Shampoo production, head band, matting on slippers, weaving on slippers, flower beads , rose slippers among other skills that will earn them a living as opposed to being dependants .
Mrs Oyetola  added that the training will go a long way in getting the youths prepared for the present and future challenges brought about by the economic downturn in Nigeria .

The Osun first lady stressed that, any economically   empowered youth stands a good and better chance of  being a potential employer of labour and by extension contributing to the growth and development of the economy of the state of Osun and Nigeria as a whole .

Speaking at the programme ,the Aragbiji of Iragbiji land, oba Abdul Rasheed  Olabomi, Odundun the 4th, appreciated the wife of the governor for her  humanitarian gesture all the time.

The royal father was of the contention that rather than giving the youths fish to eat, Mrs Oyetola, instead ,chooses to proverbially  teach them how to catch their own fish .

Oba Olabomi, prayed God to continue to bless Mrs Oyetola in her daily desire to make a difference for not only the youths of the state but the entire people through her Non Governmental Organisation, IleriIOluwa Development Initiatives.

Certificates of participation were later presented to the participants.
