OSF 2021: All hands must be on deck for its success, says Yemi Lawal.



  


 Osun State Youth and Sports Commissioner, Yemi Lawal has noted  that development of sports  in the State should be  a collective responsibility.

The Commissioner stated this during the first joint Technical meeting with Local Government Sports Coordinators, Local Organising Committee, Government Officials and a host of others  preparatory  to the Maiden Edition of "Osun Sports Festival".  

The Information Officer of the Ministry, Oluwabunmi Akindele hinted latterglorynews that the meeting was the first of its kind with the stakeholders who all converged on Osogbo township Stadium, Osogbo.

The Commissoner emphasized that the purpose of organising the OSF is to discover youths who are talented  in Sports.

 Lawal  who was represented by the Director of Sports in the Ministry of Youth and Sports who is also the Secretary General of LOC, Layi Adesiyan charged all  the stakeholders to work hard for the success of the event.
According to him, "this is the only way to justify Governor Adegboyega Oyetola's intention who in the first instance gave approval for the festival".

He added that the festival will be in three phases ; local, zonal and State adding that it  will feature thirty-three different sporting activities that are expected to be keenly contested for by the budding talents. 

In his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports Development, Vincent Akinbami expressed delight on the turnout of the participants at the meeting. 
  
Highlights of the stakeholders meeting were the thorough  review of the general rules and regulations of the games , presentation of  facilities and venues  as well as the  review of timeline of the games  among other salient arrangements for the overall success of the coming Osun Sports Festival (OSF).
