Osun Governor tasks New LG Caretaker Chairmen to Dispence Dividends of Democracy.

Governor, State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has tasked local government Caretaker Chairmen appointees to hit the ground running and deliver dividends of democracy to the people of their respective local government areas.

Governor Oyetola gave the charge  at the swearing-in ceremony of the sixty-nine local government government and LCDA Caretaker Chairmen held at the Government Secretariat, Osogbo, the State Capital. He stated that the leadership of the Chairmen will only be meaningful and successful to the extent to which they run the administration of their domains, advancing that the local government Institution is the closest to the people.

The Governor, who was flanked by his Cabinet members, State House of Assembly members and other top political functionaries added that they should make humility, integrity, purposefulness, honesty, transparency, accountability and incorruptibility their warchwords, admonishing them to work closely with the bureaucracy, listen to the yearnings of their people,  and seek  regular constructive feedbacks from them. 

He spoke further, " Considering that your emergence followed a thorough-intense process, you should regard this invaluable opportunity as sufficiently humbling and a lifetime opportunity to, not only serve our people, but to also leave an indelible footprint in the sand of time.

"I must add that against the backdrop of this privileged appointment, you should immediately stretch your hands of partnership to fellow contestants who were not so privileged. As you know, out of the many equally eligible, qualified and deserving, only a few could have been chosen" . Oyetola stated.

Earlier in his address of welcome, the Commissioner for Local Government and Cheiftaincy Affairs, Hon. Adeleke Adebayo enjoined the Chairmen to carry along the people who will be helpful in their administration, stressing that they must go back to their domains to reconcile any political matter that may hamper the smooth running of their administration.

He further urged them to take the security of the people in their areas of jurisdiction seriously, noting that the security and welfare of the people should be paramount to a serious government. He also charged them not to see the appointment as means for personal angradizement.

In his goodwill message, the  State Caretaker Chairman, All Progressive Congress,  Prince Gboyega Famoodun charged the Caretaker Chairmen to be dedicated, loyal and serve the people of their respective local government areas with all sense of responsibility, pointing out that local government administration is a gargantuan task. He added that service to the community is the only instrument a politician can use to be relevant in local politics.

Use farm tools, processing equipments given you to progress your farming businesses, Osun Agric Commissioner urges women in Agriculture

 Tobiloba-Taiwo Awofadeju  Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Tola Faseru, has enjoined the women farmers in the State, especially in Atakumosa East Local Government Area to ensure that the farming processing equipment, tools and livestock distributed to them are used solely for the purpose of growing their agricultural businesses. Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation. This directive was given by the Permanent Secretary in the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Adeoye Popoola at a crucial management meeting with the HLAs in Abere. Barr. Popoola who averred that it would be in the best interest of local government councils to pay monthly imprest regularly, in order to enhance work productivity  as well as boosting the morale of workers.
