Social Protection: Osun Govt. Trains Planning, Research and Statistics Officers on effective delivery.






The State Government of Osun has put together a 3 day training workshop to equip Planning, Research and Statistics officers in  Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government on effective service delivery.

The workshop organized by  the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget in collaboration with the "Save The Children" initiative of the Federal Government is to ensure that every resident of the State of Osun, especially the vulnerable has access to quality and accessible social services.

Declaring the three day workshop open in Osogbo, Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa said the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is determined to ensure that no resident of the state is denied access to social amenities.

He said the present administration will never loose focus of its Development Agenda for the masses of the state who willingly gave him their votes during the last gubernatorial elections in the state.

The Commissioner who was represented at the event by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Planning and Budget, Hon. Aderemi Kolajo said the collation of data and its usage is very important for effective planning, hence the need for the workshop.

According to the Commissioner, "This present administration want to positively impact our community and every resident of this state, we want to know how impactful we have been to our rural communities and what to do for improvement.

"We want to ensure that we can gather and have accurate data, we want to know and capture data that we can use to positively affect the lives of our people, we want to know if we are moving in the right direction.

"Our Monitoring and Evaluation officers must have impactful effect on our people through the MDAs because data is useless if it can't be used to solve problems in our society and our planning officers too will indirectly be useless. The aim of this workshop is to solve all that". He stated.

The three day workshop  anchored by "Diadem Consult" is put together for Planning Research and Statistics officers in MDAs, Tertiary Institutions and the Local Government Areas.

Use farm tools, processing equipments given you to progress your farming businesses, Osun Agric Commissioner urges women in Agriculture

 Tobiloba-Taiwo Awofadeju  Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Tola Faseru, has enjoined the women farmers in the State, especially in Atakumosa East Local Government Area to ensure that the farming processing equipment, tools and livestock distributed to them are used solely for the purpose of growing their agricultural businesses. Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation. This directive was given by the Permanent Secretary in the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Adeoye Popoola at a crucial management meeting with the HLAs in Abere. Barr. Popoola who averred that it would be in the best interest of local government councils to pay monthly imprest regularly, in order to enhance work productivity  as well as boosting the morale of workers.
