2021 Osun Osogbo Festival: Osun Govt Admonishes Religions' Adherents to Sustain Prevailing Peace.




 -Charges devotees to obey COVID-19 Protocols.


 


The State Government of Osun has admonished adherents of all religions in the State to embrace peace and love during and after the celebration of this year's Osun Osogbo Festival.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Osun, Dr. Obawale Adebisi gave the counsel at the Press Conference organized by the Ministry in respect of the year 2021 Osun Osogbo Festival held at the State Secretariat in the State capital. While asserting that religious tolerance is the bedrock of societal peace, the Commissioner harped on the need for all religions' adherents to live in harmony with one another, during and after the festivities, in order to sustain the prevailing peace in the State. 

The Commissioner further reiterated that the Oyetola led administration will do everything possible to resist any move by any group or individuals, to use the annual programme to brew trouble. He also charged parents and guardians to warn their wards and children not to allow themselves to be used for criminal acts, stressing that anyone caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Dr. Obawale similarly vouched that the State Government has put all necessary measures in place to ensure a hich-free celebration of the globally recognized festival and to protect the lives  of tourists, coming from within and outside the Country for the celebration.

He further reminded the worshippers of the need to be heavily guarded against the resurging Covid-19 by strictly adhering to the already established protocols.

Obawale however disclosed that in view of the need to control the crowd, without depriving the entire world the opportunity of partaking in the grand finale of ancient festival slated for 13th August, the State Government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has collaborated with Active Projectile Limited to ensure the live transmission of the festival by setting up virtual platform, promising that the link to join the platform will be made known to all and sundry.

It would be recalled that Year 2021 Osun Osogbo Festival has begun since Monday, 2nd of August, with the spiritual cleansing and some other traditional rites as flagged off by the Ataoja of Osogbo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun.

Use farm tools, processing equipments given you to progress your farming businesses, Osun Agric Commissioner urges women in Agriculture

Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation.
