Osun Governor, Oyetola Reiterates Committment to Yoruba Cultural, Traditional Development.
The Governor of the State of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola has reiterated his commitment to the trado-cultural development of the State, explaining that for the Yorubas to attain it's prime of place among it's peers, the revitalization of Yoruba culture and tradition is imperative.
The Governor made this assertion in Ila Orangun on the occasion of 2021 Annual Isinro Cultural Festival hosted by the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdul-Wahab Kayode Oyedotun.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Obawale Adebisi, the Osun helmsman, who congratulated the Monarch for this year's edition of the festival observed that Isinro festival is a major avenue for rescucitating Yoruba culture and tradition, while maintaining that his administration will continue to collaborate with Ila Community to promote Isinro festival.
Mr. Oyetola challenged other royal fathers in the State to keep the flags of their culture and traditions flying so that the present and future generations will have a lot learn from.
Earlier in his remarks, during the festival which featured cultural displays and Ipedi dance, among other cultural varieties, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdul-Wahab Oyedotun affirmed that any monarch in Yorubaland should be a custordian of Yoruba culture and tradition.
He explained that Isinro celebration is a traditional festival of the ancient town targeted at ensuring cultural reunion of the people with their great ancestors and founders, as well as showcasing the the rich culture and tradition of Ila Kingdom.
The traditional ruler reiterated that the festival has nothing to do with religion but a means of reviving the dying culture of Yoruba land.
Oba Oyedotun used the occasion to appreciate the sons and daughters of the town, including all well wishers for gracing the occasion.
At the event were the Royal Fathers around Ila Kingdom, Coordinating Director, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Samuel Adeniyi, Senior Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism, Mr. Raimi Opesina, among others.
