Osun Govt. extends its free donation of T.M.E. 419 Cassava stems to Ijesha land Farmers.
As part of its endless efforts to ensure food sufficiency in the state, the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has distributed free T.M.E 419 cassava stems to farmers in Ijesha land and its environs.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security,Mr Adedayo Adewole flagged off the distribution on behalf of the State government at
Ilesa East local government Secretariat,Iyemogun road,Ilesa.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Cordinating Director, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mrs Adegbemisola Fayoyin, stressed the importance of food to people at the event with a declaration that without it , life will not only be meaningless but uneventful.
She added that the need to get people to bid farewell to hunger but get well fed and fulfilled in their day to day activities made governor Adegboyega Oyetola to give food security the needed attention at all times by his administration.
The state government through Mrs Fayoyin also told farmers in attendance that the distribution of cassava stems is specifically targeted at further realizing the objective of boosting the on going program of the State government tagged "Cassava transformation" .
She urged the beneficiary farmers in Ijesha land and its environs to continue to key into the various Agricultural programmes of Oyetola led administration.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Ilesa East Local Government, Hon.Olusola Bamidele , appreciated the governor of the state of Osun, Mr Adeboyega Oyetola for the kind gesture extended to farmers at the various Local Government Levels.
Speaking in the same vein, Chairman , Ilesa North East LCDA, lmo,Hon Oladipo Adeniyi described the gesture as laudable and encouraging to the teeming farmers just as he implored them in return to make judicious use of the Cassava stems.
Chairman ,All farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Ilesa East Local Government,Mr Dele Olusola was very appreciative of the magnanimity of the state government through the Ministry of Agriculture for its support and assistance to all farmers in the state.
