Osun Govt. urges TRAWASO to abort the proposed protest.

The State Government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has urged the Traditional Religion Worshippers Association of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter not to embark on its planned protest today in the state. While completely condemning the planned protest, the State Government says the existing peace and harmony being enjoyed by all and sundry should not be allowed to affected or mortgaged under the guise of a peaceful protest.
This is contained in a press statement signed by the State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Obawale Adebisi and made available to newsmen.
The commissioner who described the traditional religion worshippers in the State as peace loving and partners in progress to the Oyetola led administration, urged them to abort the planned protest in order to avoid religious crises in the State.
Dr. Obawale, on behalf of the Governor, Government and good people of Osun, charged the traditionalists to continue to cooperate and support the State Government as the interest of all would always be given due consideration at all times.
The statement reads in part ;
"The State Government wishes to remind all that Nigeria is a secular State and Osun is not an exception.
" There is freedom of religion for all with equity and balance in as much as there is freedom of speech, all must be guided in our utterances and avoid statement that can cause chaos and religious disharmony in our darling State" Concluded the State Government.
