Akande becomes the new GM, Osun Tourism Board

Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has appointed Architect Adekunle Akande as the new General Manager to oversee the day to day affairs of Osun  State Tourism Board.

The appointment which takes immediate effect is in line with the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetolas resolve  to promote and development the tourism sector , locally, nationally and internationally.

The appointment letter signed by the Office of the State Head of Service through the Permanent Secretary, Ayanleye Aina, dated 19th April, 2022 was  made available to  newsmen.

It reads in part, " I am pleased to inform you that approval has been granted for your appointment as the General Manager, Osun State Tourism Board with effect from 19th April, 2022.

"It is believed that your appointment will spur you to better performance on the job and ensure efficient service delivery". It concludes.

Speaking with newsmen in his Office shortly after his resumption, Architect Akande  appreciated the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola for the confidence reposed in him to serve in  the new capacity.

 While noting that it will also  serve as another opportunity for him to contribute his own quota to the growth and development  of the State, especially, in the Tourism  sector, he pledged his readiness  to live up to the desired billings of the present administration and the people of the State in general.
 
He, however, enjoined every Staff of the Agency  to extend a hand of fellowship  to him with a view to achieving the corporate objectives that in the first instance  birthed the establishment of the agency.

He emphasized " while  I thank and appreciate your open love and solidarity to me as your new G.M, I want to  similarly add that a tree can not make a forest in this regard. 

"Therefore, it behoves on all of us as staff of this agency to continue to work together as one family with commitment and dedication expected of us as civil servants.

" We should, with utmost sense of dedication to duty and  loyalty 
demonstrate our full capacity to deliver on the mandate of this Agency for our Principal, Mr 
Adegboyega Oyetola ".   concluded.

 The new G.M, who, until his new appointment was the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry of Works and Transport. He had also worked in various capacities in different  Ministries,  Departments and Agencies  of Osun State Government.

Use farm tools, processing equipments given you to progress your farming businesses, Osun Agric Commissioner urges women in Agriculture

 Tobiloba-Taiwo Awofadeju  Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Tola Faseru, has enjoined the women farmers in the State, especially in Atakumosa East Local Government Area to ensure that the farming processing equipment, tools and livestock distributed to them are used solely for the purpose of growing their agricultural businesses. Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation. This directive was given by the Permanent Secretary in the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Adeoye Popoola at a crucial management meeting with the HLAs in Abere. Barr. Popoola who averred that it would be in the best interest of local government councils to pay monthly imprest regularly, in order to enhance work productivity  as well as boosting the morale of workers.
