We will not relent in fighting insecurity in Osun - Badmus
.... congratulates traditionalists on this year's Isese festival

The Supervisor for Osun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Olalekan Badmus has reaffirmed that the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola will not relent in fighting against insecurity in the State in order for her to remain peaceful among its peers.
Mr Badmus gave the assurance on the second day of year 2022 Isese festival held at Oke-Itase, Ile-Ife, organized by the Traditional Religion Worshippers Association, Osun State Chapter, with the theme, May gods deliver us from kidnappers " Ki Irunmole gbawa lowo Ajinigbesowo".
Mr Badmus who spoke through the Coordinating Director in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mrs Solabomi Akinsola disclosed that the present administration has not taken the security issue with levity, saying that this informed the inauguration of the joint security network codenamed " Amotekun". He also emphasized that government in its magnanimity has joined hands together with the Police and other security agencies to curb ritual killings, kidnapping and banditry in the State.
He also advised every individual to cooperate with the government to eradicate every form of insecurity in Osun. While urging parents to train, teach and educate their children to shun every form of violent acts which may have negative impact on the well being of the citizenry, he re-iterated that every machinery are being put in place to ensure that the State remains peaceful.
" It is glearing that the Country is facing security challenges like kidnapping, ritual killings, banditry and so on. This is why Osun Government is trying to tighten the security architecture of the State by collaborating with the Police and all Security Agencies.
" I want to charge every resident of this State to also be vigilant wherever they are and if you see any strange movement in your area, please, alert the security personnel.
" I am also using this opportunity to inform all and sundry that government is discouraging everyone from unnecessary night movement through massive awareness on both radio and television",he added.
Mr Badmus therefore sought more support from the Association and prayers for Governor Oyetola's led administration ,while assuring them that government will continue to support them.
While speaking, the President of the Association in Osun, Dr Oluseyi Atanda said the festival is the largest traditional festival celebration across the globe,adding that the programme is an opening Mass prayer for Nigeria, Osun State, Government, health, education and every other sector in the Country.
He however encouraged Government at all levels, traditionalists and everyone to always obey the injunctions of Ifa, noting that Ifa has always been speaking to the leaders of this Country on what to do to restore peace to the land but they refused to listen to it. He said if Nigerians could follow Ifa injunctions, Nigeria will be a better place to live.
In his Royal speech, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Babatunde Eniitan Ogunwusi congratulated the traditional worshippers for the celebration of this year's World Ifa Festival,while praying that the gods will spear their lives to witness more of it.
The Monarch, who was represented by Oba Adekunle Adebowale, urged traditionalists in the State to put more efforts in spreading the religion across the land, noting that traditional religion is indigenous religion which must be embraced by all and sundry.
He charged government to include traditional religion into the School curriculum so as to enable the younger ones learn the religion from tender age.
In his charge, the Agesin Adimula of Ila Orangun, Agba Awo Fagbenle Adedayo stated that," the Oracle has alerted that the world is about to collapse due to too much of sins of both the leaders and the led". He urged every individual to desist from being entangled with worldly affairs ,and to endeavor to live righteously.
He further encouraged every leader in Nigeria, such as political Office holders from the Federal to the Local Governments level, Civil Servants, Judges, Traditional Rulers and every other sector,to be honest and truthful to their callings.
Chief Fagbenle further delivered the oracle message saying:" Ifa has sent a warning message to Osun Government, under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to work on steady supply of electricity, adequate security of lives and property of the residents of the State in order to guard against every form of criminality and to improve the economy of the State."
In attendance at the festival were: the Araba Awo of Osogbo, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon;the Asiwaju Awo Agbaye, Chief Fagbenusola Atanda, Directors from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Traditional Worshippers across the State among others.
Highlights of the programme were intercessory prayers for continued peace in the State, the success of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola's administration as well as for aversion of diseases outbreak in Osun.
