4,200 vulnerables, flood victims in Osun to benefit from NEMA relief materials

No less than ,4200 Vulnerable and flood disaster victims in Osun State are to benefit from the relief materials donated by the Federal Government through National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
An indication to this effect came to the fore today when the Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed Habib delivered a consignment of edible and non edible materials valued at several millions of naira to the office of Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) and received by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The NEMA boss who was represented by the deputy director in charge of Disasters and Risk Reduction, Mr Slaku Lugard Bijimi revealed this at the verification and symbolic presentation of the items at OSEMA WAREHOUSE, Osogbo the State Capital.
According to Mr Slaku, the donation of the relief materials is being carried out in different states in Nigeria as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government to all the States mostly affected by flood disasters.
The Information Officer of the Agency, Segilola Babalola reported to latterglorynews that, Mr Slaku stressed that the distribution was also based on a joint assessment exercise earlier conducted by SEMA and NEMA Zonal Offices throughout Nigeria .
The NEMA boss therefore admonished Osun State Government through OSEMA to ensure that the donated items get to the beneficiaries.
The relief materials donated by NEMA are several bags of Rice, Beans, Maize, Salt, Vegetable oil, Seasoning cubes, Guinea brocades, Children and women wears, Tin tomatoes, Mosquito nets and toilet soaps among others.
Earlier in his speech, the State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji appreciated the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for the donation of the relief materials to the vulnerable people and victims of flood disasters in the State.
Governor Oyetola stressed further that the present administration under his watch takes the well-being of all the citizens of the State as a priority .
He consequently assured that all the relief materials received by the State will be distributed to the affected people without any undue interference by the Government.
In his welcome address, The General Manager, Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA), Mr Amos Adejinle applauded the Federal Government through NEMA for the donation of the relief materials meant for the vulnerable persons in Osun State.
Mr Adejinle emphasized that the relief materials will go along way in alleviating the sufferings of the affected thereby bringing smiles to their faces.
