Osunro charges newly converted Administrative Officers on Committement, diligence, dedication to duty

The Chairman, Osun State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Femi Osunro has charged the newly converted Administrative Officers in the State Civil Service  to make due diligence, dedication and commitment their watchwords in the performance of their official duties.

The Chairman gave the charge today during the meeting held with the first set of the newly converted Administrative Officers held in the State Government Secretariat, Osogbo, the State Capital. He charged them to endeavor to lead others with their conduct and have it in mind to be part of the team to restore the lost glory of the Civil Service. 

Mr Osunro further admonished them to be loyal to the Government in power and to the ideals of the State, as they are now part and parcel of the management team of the Civil Service.

While congratulating them on their new elevation to the Officers' grade in the Service of the State, he stated that the Commission is hoping that appropriate orientation and induction programmes would be organized for them  in due course.

The Chairman however, appreciated the State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola for his commitment to the promotion of the welfare of public servants generally. He said the Governor has been so magnanimous by giving approval to promotion, preferment and conversion of Public Servants to appropriate higher grades, dating back to 2019 which has brought joy to thousands of Civil Servants in Osun State.

While speaking, the duo of the Commissioner 1, Mr Bello Dejo and the Commissioner 2, Mr Ayantoye of the Civil Service Commission urged the newly converted Administrative Officers to be more confident, disciplined in whatever they do, quoting that " discipline is an application of authority to secure good conduct". 

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Human Resources and Capacity Building, Mr. Ayanleye Aina enjoined the New Administrative Officers to see themselves as all rounders. He further admonished them on the need to always be punctual and dutiful. 

The Permanent Secretary also stressed that they should be studious , saying that they are the solutions to all issues.

Earlier, in his address of welcome, the Coordinating Director in the Commission, Mr. Moroof Olawale urged them to count themselves lucky, explaining that about 75 people applied for conversion, 35 of them were first considered and made the list.

He therefore admonished them to always dress properly and decently noting that, "their dressing speaks more about them". While charging them to be ready to work anywhere they are posted under any circumstances, warning them not to engage in lobbying for posting, saying that, anyone caught in the act will face the wrath of the law.

Present at the meeting were: the Commissioner 3 of the Commission, Mr Tunji Adesokun; Commissioner 4, Mr Akinleye Azeez and Directors among others.
