Osun Ministry of health charges residents to embrace immunization

The Permanent Secretary, Osun State Ministry of Health, Mr Kayode Adegoke has admonished parents and guardians to take the health of their wards serious by ensuring that they are fully vaccinated against any disease outbreak.
The Permanent Secretary, who spoke through the State Epidemiologist, Dr(Mrs) Omolola Adeagbo in his Office emphasized that routine immunization is very essential for wards, from birth to 15months.
In a chat with the Press Officer in the Ministry, Mrs.Segilola Babalola, the Epidemiologist also disclosed that Osun State has recorded one case of Diphtheria disease outbreak in Ilesa East Local Government Area of the State earlier this year. She stressed further that the Professor that attended to the child sent the collected sample test of the symptoms to Abuja for verification,and it was declared positive.The child was reportedly isolated and managed at one of the State Facility Center before his recovery.
Dr(Mrs) Adeagbo identified some of the signs of Diphtheria as cough, sore throat, fever, mouth odour, rasches. etc
She then advised Osun residents to take advantage of health facilities in their immediate environment, since the government has provided them qualified Doctors/ Physicians that will take care of them,if they perceive any symptoms.
She hinted further that no cough is normal ,advising anyone that is coughing excessively to go for Diphtheria Disease test, free of charge.
She admonished the residents of Osun to also eat vegetables, take plenty water, fruits, use nose masks in any large gathering, use hand sanitizer and make sure that their environment is clean,advancing that health is wealth.
