Deputy Majority Leader, Osun Assembly commends INEC for peaceful poll
The Deputy Majority leader of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Kunle Akande has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 General Elections.
He gave this remark shortly after exercising his voting right at Ward 2, Unit 2, Oyin-Adejobi compound Osogbo.
The Majority Leader who also commended the electoral umpire's sensitisation ahead of the election, observed that it culminated into massive turnout of the electorate, expressing optimism that his party would emerge victorious in the polls.
He observed that the INEC Officials arrived the venue early, just as the the aged and the physically challenged were treated specially to vote.
Places like Old garage, Igbonna, Ayetoro, Power line, Ota-efun, all in Osogbo were deserted as social and economic activities were grounded in compliance with electoral laws.
At Stadium round about, in Osogbo, security operatives were on ground, to prevent breach of law and order.
The lawmaker was of the opinion that the manner with which the electorates conducted themselves, without crisis, is an attestation to the fact that the polls will be free and fair.
