Murphy Afolabi's demise: A monumental loss to Osun, Movie Industry- Akinsola

The sudden death of a popular Osogbo-born Nollywood Actor, Murphy Afolabi has been described as a monumental loss to Osun State and the movie industry, particularly at a time when the deceased experience and expertise would be needed most.

This impression was made by the Coordinating Director in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,Mrs Solabomi Akinsola during a condolence visit paid on the duo of the State Governor of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Morufu Olayiwola as well as the family of the departed legendary Actor who gave up the ghost on Sunday,May 14,2023.

The condolence visit  was paid,on behalf of the State Government by the Career Head of Culture and Tourism Ministry as well as the Executive Secretary,Osun State Council For Arts and Culture, Mrs Solape Abolarin accompanied by members of Staff in the Ministry. 
 
When delivering the Osun State Governor's message Mrs Akinsola who expressed the heartfelt condolences of the State Government, prayed for divine comfort for the deceased immediate and extended families as members of the Association left behind by the late Actor.

While speaking at the occasion Solape Aborin, Executive Secretary, Council for Art and Culture, enjoined all and sundry to live impactful life anchored on the fear of God, advancing that,"one day we shall all become history."

In his response,prince Ayo Oladapo ,national executive TAMPAN,  Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria,who spoke on behalf of the  National President of the Association, Otunba Bolaji Amusan Latin appreciated the Government of Osun State for the great love shown the family and the Association that Murphy Afolabi left behind, praying that  God will continue to uphold the Government of Osun under the leadership of Sen Ademola Adeleke.

In a similar development,the head of Fetuata family of the deceased,Mr Yusuf Iyiola Lateef appreciated State Government and the representing visiting team for identifying with them in their period of grief with the prayer that God will put an end to sudden death among the Artists and all other Associations.

The condolence visit was concluded with prayer which was led by a Cultural Officer from the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Ojo for the immediate family of the late Actor Murphy Afolabi ,the Association and the entire Fetuata compound Isale Osun, Osogbo.
