Osun Culture & Tourism Ministry PS seeks way forward on hospitality business

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Osun State, Mrs Adebimpe Ogunlumade has sought for a way forward on hospitality and entertainment industry in the State.

The Permanent Secretary gave the impression   during a courtesy visit  on her in office by the Osun State Hoteliers Association.

At the meeting, which was attended by the management team of the Ministry, Mrs Ogunlumade noted that the present administration, under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke,has spent a lot on improving Science, Technology and Innovation which,she observes, will be of great help to the hotel owners in the State.

She disclosed that the details of all Hotels in the State will be enlisted  on the website so that any one coming from outside Osun or outside Nigeria will be able to easily locate the hotel of his choice.

She stressed further that hotel business has gone beyond local level and that it will be of great concern to anyone who wants to lodge to be assured of adequate security. 

She added that  apart from the website listing, there should be a booklet which will serve as guide to the general public.

Mrs Ogunlumade therefore charged the Association not to hesitate in calling the attention of the State Government to any area where they feel the Government is lagging behind on the issue of capacity building and hospitality industry for proper and immediate action. 

In her speech, the Director Hotel Management and Hospitality, Mrs Sola Akinyemi assured the Association that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be paying unscheduled visits to hotels across the State for monitoring and supervision to see their facilities.

In his response, the President, Hoteliers Association in Osun, Barrister Elusanmi Abiodun, appreciated the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Adebimpe Ogunlumade for her move in seeking the way forward in hospitality and entertainment industry, promising that the Association will cooperate with the State 
Government to move hospitality business forward. 

In his vote of thanks, the Public Relations Officer of the Association, Mr Sadiku Amusa, appreciated the Permanent Secretary and the entire management team for their time and promised never to let the government down.
