Osun Govt. commence spot rehabilitation of roads across State

In an effort to make life more comfortable for residents and especially motorists, Osun State government has commenced the spot rehabilitation of roads across major towns and cities in the State.

Engineers from the Osun State Ministry of Works and Transport have been mobilised and were seen on ground around the Oja-Oba market, Oke-Onitea, LAMECO, Old-Garage, Oke-Fia etc in Osogbo already carrying out spot rehabilitation of the portions of all the roads around the axis.

Speaking during an inspection of the exercise, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr. Basiru Bello said the Governor expressly gave approval for the spot rehabilitation of roads across the major towns and cities in the State.

He said Governor Ademola Adeleke felt the need to put the roads in good shape because of the rainy season and to ease vehicular movement especially as the Eid-el-Kabir celebration draws near.
The Permanent Secretary then urged residents and motorists to cooperate with workers and officials of the Ministry of Works on the road, while also appealing to residents to bear the inconveniences for the time being.

Engr. Bello then assured masses of the State that the present administration is determined to continue to provide quality infrastructures that will attract investors to the State and make life more meaningful for residents.

He said, "I want residents and motorists to please cooperate with the men of the Ministry of Works and Transport who are currently on the roads in different towns and cities across the State carrying out spot rehabilitation as instructed by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

"The rainy season is already here, the Governor does not want the rains to cause too much damage to our roads that's why he has approved we quickly do a spot rehabilitation of the bad portions". He stated.

Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation. This directive was given by the Permanent Secretary in the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Adeoye Popoola at a crucial management meeting with the HLAs in Abere. Barr.
