Osun HOS charges Administrative Officers to be diligent

The newly converted Administrative Officers in Osun State Civil Service have been admonished to keep abreast of Civil Service rules and guidelines in their various duty posts.
Osun State Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina gave the admonition while declaring open a 3-day induction workshop organized for the newly converted Administrative Officers, including those that had been converted between between year 2018 to 2022, by the Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service.
While emphasizing the need for training and retraining of public servants, Mr Aina, urged them to be conversant with the guidelines governing their work and to be up and doing on their new desks.
Mr Aina, who also stressed the need to keep to service ethics like discipline, anonymity, punctuality and loyalty, which according to him, transcends merit, alerted that the authority would monitor their activities.
He then counseled the new Administrative officers:" In view of the fact that community development like every other sector is dynamic, there are new trends which you have to imbibe.So, training is very key in order to forge ahead in this profession.When you embrace training, it will boost your capacity for enhanced productivity. You therefore need to go on courses and engage in regular self development in order to get better equipped for the work."
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary in the Public Service Office, Mr. Kolawole Akintola had appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke
as truly workers' friendly and for his timely approval of the programme, while also lauding the civil service boss, Mr. Olaleye Aina for the role played in getting the programme approved.
Akintola charged the new Administrators to to be conscious of time in their respective offices, and to be punctual at their duty posts, advancing that punctuality is the soul of business. He also warned them against seeking undeserved favour like privileged posting.
A resource person,who is also a retired Permanent Secretary, Mr. S.O Laluwoye who took time to tutor the new officers on the nitty gritty of administration, appreciated the Civil Service Boss for making the programme a reality.
Another resource person at the workshop, retired General Manager and season Administrator, Dr. Lekan Asifa also thanked the Head of Service for organising the workshop.
Dr.Ashifat also enjoined them to take advantage of the training session to update themselves on new trends in the public service and in their new career so that government expenses on the training would be fully maximized.
