Osun Governor, Adeleke inaugurates A-16 man education summit committee

To revamp the lost glory in education sector in Osun, the Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has inaugurated a-16 man education summit committee headed by Professor Oyesoji Aremu.

The committee, according to the Governor, consists of great proffesonals with enviable track records,  drawn from different levels of national education deliveries.

Speaking at the inauguration venue, the Osun State Governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, charged the team to be up and doing in order to come out with best modality that would provide lasting solution to poor performance in education sector.

The Governor, who acknowledged the desperation of Osun populace in turning around the sector into academic excellence for which the South-West Nigeria was renowned  said the main aim and objective of inaugurating the education summit in the state are:" to formulate a dependable blue print for an education that aligns with the national education policy and laying solid foundation for discovery of opportunities for the state's socio-economic breakthrough and personal fulfilment for learners and teachers respectively."

Other  objectives are :" to pioneer an education that will make an everage Osun learners self reliant and be critical thinkers and problem solvers through an education that is ICT driven as well as creating skill acquisition and entrepreneurial program for sustainable development that will find meaning in a stable polity of the State."

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Oyesoji Aremu appreciated the Governor for reposing confidence in them to contribute in finding lasting solution to the ugly face in education sector in the State.

Among members of the Committee are : Prof David Fakeye, Prof. Waheed Babatunde Yahaya, Dr.( Mrs) Halira Babalola, Dr. Emmanuel Olufemi Adeniyi  with the Permanent Secretary General Services, Mr. Akanbi Okandeji as member for administrative and strategy reasons.
