Osun Govt. procures water treatment chemicals

As part of efforts at ensuring that members of the public have access to clean and potable water, the Osun State Government through the State's Water Corporation has procured water treatment chemicals for the benefit of general public.

This was disclosed by the General Manager, Osun State Water corporation, Engr.(Mrs) Dupeola Jokotola, while speaking with newsmen in her office. 

The General Manager who was represented by the Assistant General Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, Engr. Olusola Amos explained that the present administration is committed to the wellbeing of all and sundry, hence, the purchase of the water treatment chemicals.
  
Explaining the benefits of Hypochlorite / Liquid Chlorine Gas in water production, Engr. Jokotola disclosed that the chemical is a disinfectant that kills germs that may be present in the water produced before being dispensed to the masses. 

She added that aluminum sulphate is used to ensure clean potable water while hydrated lime is used to regulate the acidity level of the water.

The GM seized the opportunity to enjoin members of the public to avoid any act capable of damaging water pipelines.

Engr. Jokotola therefore advised members of the public to support the present administration by paying their water bill/rate as and when due, saying it would assist the government in carrying out its statutory responsibility of providing potable water for the people of the state.

Use farm tools, processing equipments given you to progress your farming businesses, Osun Agric Commissioner urges women in Agriculture

 Tobiloba-Taiwo Awofadeju  Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Tola Faseru, has enjoined the women farmers in the State, especially in Atakumosa East Local Government Area to ensure that the farming processing equipment, tools and livestock distributed to them are used solely for the purpose of growing their agricultural businesses. Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation. This directive was given by the Permanent Secretary in the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Adeoye Popoola at a crucial management meeting with the HLAs in Abere. Barr.
