Ogun Poly Tussle: Concerned group commends Governor Abiodun on timely intervention


A Concerned Group in Ogun State have commended Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State for his timely response to the issue of fraudulent and corrupt recommendation made to him on the appointment and approval of the Rector of Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, Ilese-Ijebu in the state.

According to the Convener of the group, Comrade Mathew Olanipekun who made this commendation in a press statement issued and made available to journalists on Saturday, Governor Abiodun has demonstrated good leadership role by his timely intervention in putting things into right direction on the Rectorship appointment of the institution.

The group emphasised, "YourExcellency Sir, We want to appreciate your timely response on the issue of dubious and corrupt recommendation made to you on the appointment and approval of Rector of the Ogun State Polytechnic of Health, Ilese.

 " Our source reliably informed that you called Barrister Kunle Kalejaiye, the Governing Council Chairman to confirm the authenticity of the claim that the recommended candidate did not have PhD certificate at the time of his application and Barrister Kalejaiye lied by telling you "it is not true".

 " Mr Governor Sir, We are afraid that you are surrounded by liars and deceptive characters who has nothing to loose knowing the bulk stops at your table. 
Barrister Kalejaiye only wanted to cover his unprofessional and administrative lacuna in this matter. Sir, We want to advice you to independently investigate whether it is true that a candidate can present a document not in tandem with the advertorial requirements and still be considered. 

"The connivance of these people i.e, Gov Council Chairman, Registrar of the Polytechnic and Special Adviser, SA on education goes beyond what you can see.
The vacancy advert was published on Wednesday the 17th of May 2023 and the notification of result of the candidate is also there Sir as they want to misled you in approving the appointment.

 " Please Your Excellency, the reason why you cancelled the first exercise which was transparent and credible was because the commissioner of education lied to you that the council did not follow due process. Now a master degree certificate holder in Statistics in the Dept of Mathematics at the Fed Poly Ilaro as at the close of advert on the 16th of June 2023 is the one recommended to you for approval when one of the requirements is that the candidate for consideration MUST have a PhD in any of the courses domiciled in the Polytechnic.

"However, your appointed Governing Council Chairman in connivance with aforementioned individuals recommended a master degree certificate holder in Statistics while presenting a notification of result as a coverup"

The group further asked Governor Abiodun to urgently order for independent enquiry over this claims. I will keep you posted because nobody will mention these people's name but yours as situation deteriorates".

Recalled that the Concerned Group has called for urgent intervention of Governor Abiodun of Ogun on the issue of Rectorship appointment of Rector of Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, Ilese-Ijebu in the state.

Osun LGSC career head directs HLAs to make imprest a first line charge

By Jide Akano Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in Osun State have been directed to make the issue of monthly imprest their first line charge while dispensing their monthly allocation.
