Osun State commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Bankole Ojo has emphasised  the need for all and sundry to work together to rescue Yoruba culture and tradition from going into extinction.

The political head of the Ministry gave the admonition at  the year 2023 Cultural day celebration organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as part of the activities lined up to  mark this year's Osun Osogbo Festival held at the Sacred Grove, Osogbo.

In their separate goodwill message, former Executive Secretary, Council in the Council For  Arts and Culture, Mr Oyetunde Oyesiji and Mr Alhaji Monrufu Olayiwola encouraged the Yorubas to always cherish their culture, describing Yoruba language as one of the greatest gift possessed in the land. They urged the Yorubas, especially the elites to always communicate with the young ones in undiluted native language, stressing that it will assist them in their studies.

The duo stressed that Yoruba tradition and cuture such as dressing, communication, greetings, eating of local delicacies, behavior, among others, need to be resuscitated and practiced like our fore-fathers did.
