Osun Assembly pledges support for new Ministry of Transportation
...says effective transport sector can enhance ease of doing business

The Osun State House of Assembly has expressed the desire to advance new laws that will help the newly created Ministry of Transportation to function optimally for the benefit of all and sundry.
The House of Assembly spoke through the House Committee on Public Works and Transport while hosting the Ministry of Transportation as part of its function to ensure residents of the State enjoys the dividends of democracy.
Speaking further, Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Abiola Saheed described the role of the Ministry of Transportation as one that is very key and sensitive to every resident of the State.
He said apart from ensuring the safety of lives on Osun roads, the Ministry is also saddled with the very important responsibility of revenue generation for the State.
The lawmaker said the Ministry of Transportation should be highly supported if the State is determined to ensure the ease of doing business because good and effective transportation system helps businesses to grow.
Earlier during a presentation, Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele assured the Committee that the Ministry will ensure to deliver on its mandate.
He solicited the assistance of the House of Assembly in the formulation of laws that will help the Ministry achieve its aims and objectives for the benefit of Osun people.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Transportation, Hon. Yakub Adejare spoke of the need for the transportation sector in the State to be fully harnessed and given the necessary attention.
