Governance: Osun Govt. creates three more sectors to aid efficient service delivery

In a bid to promote sustainable development through pragmatic, transparent, accountable and inclusive governance to better the lives of residents, the State Government of Osun has created three more public sectors to aid efficiency.
The three new sectors created as part of the gains of the ongoing review of the State Development Plan (2019-2028) are: the Human Capital Development Sector, the Culture and Tourism Sector as well as the Solid Minerals Sector.
The creation of the three new sectors now takes the total number of public sectors in the state to sixteen creating a better opportunity for technocrats in the various sectors to assist government in the task of making life better for residents.
Speaking while delivering an address at a 3 Day workshop on Medium Term Sector Strategy(MTSS) Strategic Session on State of Osun Development Plan(SDP) Review, Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development, Prof Olalekan Yinusa said it is in the best interest of the State.
He added that the Solid Minerals Sector was created for geological data improvement, reduce flooding and environmental degradation and assist the State to improve monitoring of mining activities in the State for better results.
The Commissioner explained that the Human Capital Development Sector was created because the State needs Civil Servants that are conscientious, meticulous, hardworking, disciplined, firm, enterprising and productive to help drive all it's development agenda easily.
Yinusa stated further that it has been discovered that the State is loosing so much through Culture and Tourism in terms of revenue generation, hence the need to create the Culture and Tourism Sector to help organize things in a way that it can be beneficiary for the State.
The previous 13 Sectors of the State are: Agriculture, Commerce and Industry, Economic Planning, Budget and Development , Finance and Revenue Generation, Water and Sanitation, Infrastructure, Information and Communication, Education, Health, Social Development and Welfare, Security, Law and Justice, Governance and Administration and Environment Sector.
He explained that by the time the vision, mission and core values of the three new Sectors are crafted and becomes effective, the State will be better for it.
