Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has hinted that the present administration will build a world class Cultural Center as a means of boosting the revenue generation of the State through culture and tourism.
Governor Adeleke stated this today while addressing the Osun State Council For Arts and Culture at the ongoing briefing of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government by the new administration.
The Governor who was represented at the briefing by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi said it is disheartening for a State that is 32 years old and with a richness in tradition and culture not to have a befitting Cultural Center.
The Governor who said it is absurd to have a Council of Art and Culture without a Cultural Center ordered the council to immediately look for a suitable place where the State's Cultural Center will be built.
He said a well funded tourism and culture agency of government with a befitting Cultural Center will go a long way in improving the Internally Generated Revenue of the State and also boost other sectors of the State.
Earlier while briefing the panel, the Executive Secretary, Osun State Council For Arts and Culture, Mr Samuel Adeniyi while assuring the panel of the Council's readiness to work assiduously to improve the IGR of the State, said the council is already in search of a piece of land for the building of the Cultural Center.
He thanked the Governor for showing the zeal and commitment to improving the State's tourism potentials for the benefit of all and sundry.
