Over 250 flood victims in Ilesa East LG benefit from NEMA relief materials in Osun State

The representative of the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zonal Coordinator Southwest covering Ogun,Oyo and Osun States, Mr Akiode Saheed has hinted that not less than two hundred and fifty ( 250) flood victims in Ilesa East Local Government would benefit from the distribution of the Federal Government relief materials in Osun State.
Mr Akiode disclosed this at the venue of the flag-off ceremony organized for the distribution of the relief materials at Ilesa Grammar School.
As Mr.Akiode reported:"About 5 local government areas were affected by the flood that occurred in the state sometimes last year. Consequently, the Federal Government, through NEMA and OSEMA, conducted on the spot assessment, under the directive of the State Government, to ascertain the level of damage caused by the flood. Our intervention here today is a clear manifestation of the fact that the Federal Government cares and is concerned about the welfare and wellbeing of his people."
He then advised the victims to make judicious use of the relief materials donated, and ensure adequate care of their environment, especially as the raining season is around with it's attendant hazards.
Mr Akiode clarified that about over 250 people benefited from Ilesa East relief materials,while other items meant for the remaining people affected by the flood were taken to other local government areas, within the state,as captured by the assessment.
Some of the relief materials donated were cement, roofing sheets, pumping machine, sewing machine, food stuffs among others.
Earlier in his welcome address, General Manager Osun State Emergency Management Agency appreciated the efforts of the Federal Government, through National Emergency Management Agency, for bringing succor to the people of Osun that were affected by flood.
In their separate words of appreciation, Mrs John Esther and Mr Aloba appreciated the Federal Government, NEMA and OSEMA for the kind gesture extended to them and prayed for God's guidance and protection over them.
