I'll do my best to transform the entire youths, says Babalola the newly elected President Ipetumodu youths group



The newly elected President of a Youth Group of Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State; Great Ipetumodu Youth Movement (GIYM), Comrade Taiwo Babalola who is popularly known as Bablo has promised to be up and doing and do his best to transform the group.

Babalola made this promise in his acceptance speech shortly after the free and fair election duly conducted in the atmosphere of peace, love on Saturday, at the Town Hall, Market Square Ipetumodu umpired by the Electoral Committee constituted by well-attended congress of the Youth Group.

The youth President who was highly elated appreciated the entire youths and all that have contributed to the success of the election saying nothing would stop him to turn around the fortunes of the group.

According to Babalola, "I promise you all, as president I will do my very best to listen to you and ensure transparency. I also want to congratulate other members of the executive, thank you also very much for your personal strong commitment to me in the past It has been a pleasure to work with you while am admonishing you not to relent in demonstrating your unflinching support to me as I cannot do it alone without you for us to achieve together".

Babalola who thanked the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba (Prof.) Joseph Olugbenga Oloyede Latimogun 1 for his royal blessing and support to them as well as National body of the indigenous association, Ipetumodu Progressive Union (IPU), said, the 5-man Electoral Committee for their election was chaired by Engr. Kazeem A. Afolabi, Comrade Habeeb Arayemi as Secretary, with Mr Oroyebi Sulaimon, Mr Oyetade Soji pka Alactor, and Mr Ojo Matthew as members.

The Chairman electoral committee, Engr Kazeem Afolabi declared that the ten offices with a nominee each were 'AFFIRMED' and the nominees were returned elected as the Group officers while an election was conducted for the office of the President. Odemakinde David scored 4 votes while Taiwo Babalola aka Bablo score 32 votes, hence, Taiwo Babalola aka Bablo was returned elected as the President of Great Ipetumodu Youth Movement.

The names of the new youth's leadership are  Taiwo Babalola, aka Bablo, Vice-president: Ogungbemi Qazeem aka Alawusa, General Secretary: Olabiyi Sunday aka Achievers, Assistant General Secretary: Oyetumbi Abiola, Public Relations Officer, PRO: Ariwoola Saheed aka Shadow and Financial Secretary: Ibrahim Kehinde Liadi, aka Omo Agba;

Others include, Treasurer: Oyelowo Adebowale aka Prince; Organizing Secretary: Akinnibi Muftaudeen, Auditor 1: Arayemi Mutiu Olawale aka Awo, Auditor 2: Olawuni Abass pka Skippo, Women Coordinator: Adeyemi Rashidat, Assistant Women Coordinator: Nil, and Chief Whip: Nil

The Aims and objectives of the youths group is to promote and Forster unity among the entire Youth of Ipetumodu and it's environs, to tap, promote and enhance the human and material resources for socio-economic, political and educational advancement, to promote and preserve the culture, custom, language and traditions of the people of Ipetumodu and to encourage, organize and ascent self- help project within Ipetumodu among others.
