Palliative: Committee begins distribution of rice tomorrow

Following the hardship which many Nigerians are going through as a result of fuel subsidy removal, Osun Committee on palliative distribution will commence the distribution of rice to the residents of the State tomorrow.

The Chairman, Palliative Distribution Committee, who also doubles as the Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration, Dr. Bashir Salami made this known following a resolution reached at the Committee meeting held at the State Government Secretariat, Abere.

The Chairman noted that Osun has received over six thousand bags of rice from the Federal Government of Nigeria and still expecting more in another tranche. He further stated that the Committee will begin the distribution of the palliative tomorrow in batches.
Dr. Salami disclosed that ten local Governments scheduled to have theirs on Wednesday include: Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Ayedaade, Ayedire, Boluwaduro, Boripe, Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Local Government Areas.

On Thursday this week, Dr. Salami indicated that it will be the turn of Ife Central, Ifedayo, Ife East, Ifelodun, Ife North, Ife South, Ila, Ilesa East, Ilesa, West, and Irepodun Local Governments to take delivery of theirs, while Irewole, Isokan, Iwo, Obokun, Odo-Otin, Ola Oluwa, Olorunda, Oriade, Orolu, Osogbo and Area Office, Modakeke Local Governments will collect their palliatives on Friday this Week.

He therefore urged residents in the State not to entertain fear or panic about the distribution, assuring them that the Committee will be transparent in the distribution assignment.

He further explained that the State Government will soon  roll out her   palliative to complement that of the Federal Government.
