Akande becomes the new GM, Osun Tourism Board

The appointment which takes immediate effect is in line with the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetolas resolve  to promote and development the tourism sector , locally, nationally and internationally. The appointment letter signed by the Office of the State Head of Service through the Permanent Secretary, Ayanleye Aina, dated 19th April, 2022 was  made available to  newsmen. Osun Finance Commissioner mourns passage of Olukoyi of Ikoyi, Oba Yisau Bamitale

Kingsley 'Kunle Omoyeni The Asiwaju of Ikire land, Mr Bola Oyebamiji has described the passage of prominent Osun Monarch, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi, Oba Yisau Bamitale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu 1 as a loss that can not be replaced in the minds of the people. Mr Oyebamiji said news of the demise of the king came to him as a rude shock, explaining that the ancient town and environs will greatly miss him. The Commissioner in a message of condolence made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday said the departed king was a great source of blessing to indigenes and residents of Ikoyi including himself because he taped a lot from his wealth of experience. Without interference, the software advertised, processed bids and eventually selected the most qualified contractor in the award of the rehabilitation of selected roads in Osogbo/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency taking the State on a higher pedestal in transparency. Orlando Julius death: Osun Govt commisarates with Elegboro, Family

   Sunday Okunade  Osun Government, under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, has commiserated with the Elegboro of Ijebu-jesa, Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye and the entire family of late Orlando Julius Ekemode over the demise of the  music legend. Osun Governor, Oyetola intensifies campaign against lassa fever

....takes Sensitization to Market Following 127 reported cases of Lassa Fever in Nigeria, the Osun State Government has commenced aggressive sensitisation campaign against the disease in markets across the state. Speaking at Oluode Market in Osogbo on Wednesday, the Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr Olasiji Olamiju, said the sensitisation campaign was part of efforts of the State Government to educate residents and prevent further spread of the disease. Olamiju who confirmed that the state had lost a pregnant woman to the deadly disease, said though the disease has not escalated,  the department of public health would not relent in putting necessary preventive measures in place in the State. He advised residents to avoid contact with rats, maintain environmental hygiene and cover all foods and water properly. Olamiju also cautioned residents against exposing foods where rats could have access to them, kill rats when they see any and discard any food suspected to have...

So sad: Parents abandon baby in hospital after birth in Ilesa

  A baby boy has been abandoned  in a Maternity Home by his parents immediately after premature birth in  llesa, Osun State. A release signed by the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs,  Jide Falade indicated that the mother of the child was rushed to "Aseyori Ni Temi Clinic and Maternity Home" by her husband and mother-in-law  on the 14 th of February, 2022 with a complaint of stomach ache, but after several examinations, she gave birth to a premature baby boy.  Falade further explained that some hours thereafter, his parents and mother-in-law  absconded, leaving the baby behind. The release disclosed that all efforts made by the Police and the Ministry to locate the runaway parents had been fruitless. The Coordinating Director  therefore appealed to the members of public to assist in locating the relatives or parents of the baby.

Workers Welfare: Osun Govt. releases 1st Batch of vehicle refurbishing loan beneficiaries

....second batch out soon - Committee The State Government of Osun has announced the release of the first batch of beneficiaries of the Vehicle Refurbishing Loan approved by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to various categories of Public Servants. According to a statement jointly signed by the Vehicle Refurbishing Loan Committee after its meeting at the State Secretariat, successful applicants are to check  their names at various locations within the State Secretariat where the names are posted.   It added that the State Government of Osun identifies Public Servants as the instruments through which government policies and programmes are effectively implemented and delivered, hence the need to get them motivated at all times.
