Osun HOS extols virtues of training, lauds Gov. Adeleke for prioritizing Workers' training and retraining

Osun State Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina has commended the State Government  for attaching great importance to staff training and retraining, saying it will enhance their effectiveness and efficiency with direct impact on their productivity.

Mr. Aina pinpointed this in Osogbo at an orientation programme, organized for newly converted officers in the Departments of Works,Town Planning and Land Services at the Local Government level.
Declaring open the induction training organized for the new officers by the State Local Government Service Commission, the Civil Service Helmsman observed that such training will broaden the knowledge of employees and would in turn enable them to be in tune with new ideas in their chosen profession as things keep changing by the day.

Asserting that the training will  give the participants a better understanding of their duties and the skills required to do their job, Mr Aina admonished them to pay strict attention to service ethics like correct dressing, punctuality and regularity at work without compromising their loyalty to any government in power.

He then urged the resource persons to make the training practical and interactive so that it will boost the officers effectiveness and productivity.

Earlier in his address of welcome, the Coordinating Director in the Commission, Barr. Lekan Babalola who  appreciated Governor Adeleke  for consistently proving himself as being peoples',and particularly workers' friendly, had charged the new officers to spread the light of the Governor's amiable disposition to the nooks and crannies of the State. He also lauded the State Head of Service for the yeoman's job done to make the induction training a reality.

In his remarks, the Chairman Forum of Engineers, Egnr. Taofeek Ajibade who was represented by Engr. Adewumi Busayo, had viewed the training as a privilege to sharpen their tools so that they can continue to play their crucial role in dispensing dividends of democracy to the society.

Engineer Ajibade had posited that exposure to training and retraining coupled with field experience is what makes any professional tick in his chosen career.

He therefore charged his colleagues to take advantage of the training to tap into the right direction in hundred  percent loyalty to the government of day.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Forum Chairman, Town Planning and Land Services Departments in the Local Government Service,TPL Rauf Adekola Maruf, avered that both physical and social infrastructural facilities must be married to secure a sustainable environment.

He then promised, on behalf of his colleagues, to take the gains of the training to their various duty posts for proper implementation.

The topics explored at the training were: "Cost Effective Construction and Maintenance of Public Infrastructure: The Sustainable Development Approach", and "Public Service Ethics and Local Government Administration: The Role of Professionals in the Works,Town Planning and Land Services Departments",handled by  Professor John Agbonifo and Mr. Kolawole Najeem Akintola, mni, respectively.
