Osun Arts and Culture ES appeals to Govt. to build a befitting Cultural Centre

   Sunday Okunade The Executive Secretary, Osun Council for Arts and Culture, Mr Samuel Adeniyi has appealed to the State Government, under the  leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, to build a befitting Cultural Centre for the Agency so as to aid it's smooth running.  Mr Adeniyi stated this in Osogbo, the State Capital, during the inauguration of the newly elected Executives of the Radio, Television and Thearter Workers' Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Council for Arts Culture Chapter,noting that, "the Centre is a rallying avenue for cultural value to the State cultural heritage and confirmation of the appellation as the citadel of Culture and tradition." Formal Finance Commissioner simply displaying his ignorance about Public Debt Management-- Osun DMO

Kingsley Omoyeni The Osun Debt Management Office (DMO) has expressed dismay at what it termed as a continuous public display of a shallow knowledge about Public Debt Management by the immediate past Commissioner for Finance, Mr Wale Bolorunduro. The Osun DMO through the Director General, Dr Tunde Adejumo in another piece as response to Wale Bolorunduro's latest write up said it is shocking that the former Commissioner resulted to attacking the personality of the DG instead of helping himself with knowledge about Public Finance/Debt Management. The DMO stated that the Public Debt Portfolio of either a Sovereign or Sub-national does not refer only to borrowings (which could be either domestic or external), but also includes domestic expenditure arrears, while urging Wale Bolorunduro to consult appropriate literatures for clarifications. Hussein Toke Olaniyan has charged the Osun Trafic Marshal Officers( O'TRAM) to imbibe ethical and moral behavior during the discharge of their duties.   Engr. Olaniyan gave the charge at a meeting with the Traffic Marshal and their Monitoring officers across the State.  He stated that Traffic Marshals should endeavor to work with human face and kindness when disharging their duties to regulate and control traffic in the State. Osun Debt Portfolio: Stop misleading the public with wrong narratives, DMO replies formal Finance Commissioner

Kingsley  Omoyeni Osun Debt Management Office (DMO) has cautioned the immediate past Commissioner for Finance in Osun, Dr Wale Bolorunduro to desist from misleading the public with wrong narratives as regards the State's debt portfolio. The DMO says Dr Bolorunduro should be reminded that he served as Commissioner for Finance for only three years in an administration which completed the two terms of eight years, hence he lacks full knowledge of what really transpired under the administration. Osun Debt portfolio no doubts, remains a subject of controversy given its seeming humongous stock in relation to the State’s streams of revenue. This has become a constant political issue particularly since emergence of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola as the Executive Governor of Osun State in November 2018. This is so given the wide departure of narratives of the current administration in the State from the weird and brazen excuses of financial difficulty synonymous with the immediate past administration. The more financial breakthroughs and successes recorded by the current administration, the more confused men of yesteryears and ‘’the doubting Thomases’’ become. Governance: Osun Govt. creates three more sectors to aid efficient service delivery

Kingsley 'Kunle Omoyeni In a bid to promote sustainable development through pragmatic, transparent, accountable and inclusive governance to better the lives of residents, the State Government of Osun has created three more public sectors to aid efficiency. The three new sectors created as part of the gains of the ongoing review of the State Development Plan (2019-2028) are: the Human Capital Development Sector, the Culture and Tourism Sector as well as the Solid Minerals Sector. The creation of the three new sectors now takes the total number of public sectors in the state to sixteen creating a better opportunity for technocrats in the various sectors to assist government in the task of making life better for residents. The House of Assembly confirmed the nominees on Monday during the plenary at the State Assembly Complex, Osogbo. The confirmation motion was moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Maroof Olanrewaju and seconded by Hon. Mulikat Abiola Jimoh representing Ifelodun State Constituency. In his remarks, the Speaker of the Parliament, Rt. Hon.                              Sunday Okunade Osun Government, under the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, has again warned residents in the State not to let down their guards against Corona virus pandemic, as it is still wrecking havoc all over the world.  The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode gave the warning in Osogbo, the State Capital,  at a one-day workshop organised by the International Society of Public Law, Nigeria Chapter.                Osun State Government  has reiterated it's readiness to collaborate with both local and international agencies in a bid to end   Female Genital Mutilation. The Commissioner for Women,Children and Social Affairs in Osun State, Barr. Olubukola Olaboopo stated this resolve at a pre-mobilization meeting on the" Movement for Good to end Female Genital Mutilation,"held in Osogbo,the State capital. Osun Govt. Swears-in Family Court Assessors

  The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs in collaboration with Osun State Judiciary, has sworn-in a new set of Family Court Assessors in the State High Court, Osogbo, the State Capital. The swearing-in ceremony was performed by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Honorable Justice Adepele Ojo. While speaking, the Chief Judge of Osun, Honorable Justice Adepele Ojo congratulated the Assessors who are all  experienced in children welfare and family matters, charging them to take up the crucial role in accordance with the Child Right Law 2017 of Osun State, adding that the Family Court virtually takes care of family matters ,especially where the child right is to be protected.
