Stop displaying your goods along roadsides- Osun Office of transportation warns traders

Kingsley 'Kunle Omoyeni Market women and other traders at Owode-Ede, Igbona in Osogbo and other markets located along major express roads in the State have been warned against displaying their goods beside the road on market days. Residents are also advised not to patronize traders who they see display their goods too close to the express road for their own safety and to allow free flow of traffic. The Executive Secretary, Osun State Office Of Transportation, Engr. Bilal Adiat gave the warning today while featuring on a radio program monitored in Osogbo. He said market women at Owode-Ede and Ignona markets are mostly fond of displaying their goods very close to the roads and in the process impeding free flow of traffic on the road. Engr. Bilal added that it causes more danger to lives and properties as heavy duty vehicles and small cars can easily skid off the road and crush people because they are too close to the roadside. Kingsley 'Kunle Omoyeni As the fuel scarcity bites harder across the country, commercial motorists have been warned against steps they take in a bid to minimize the fuel consumption of their vehicles which could lead to loss of lives. The Executive Secretary, Office Of Transportation, Engr. Bilal Adiat gave the warning while speaking during a popular radio program tagged "Aabo loju popo" monitored on OSBC radio in Osogbo. He said because petrol is scarce and expensive, hence commercial motorists have been found to improvise ways of reducing the fuel consumption of their vehicles so as to maximize profit. Engr. Bilal said most of the steps taken by the commercial drivers are against the mechanical set-up of the vehicles which could lead to inferno and loss of lives and properties. Osun Ministry of health charges residents to embrace immunization

Segilola Babalola       The Permanent Secretary, Osun State Ministry of Health, Mr Kayode Adegoke has admonished parents and guardians to take the health of their wards serious by ensuring that they are fully vaccinated against any disease outbreak. The Permanent Secretary, who spoke through the State Epidemiologist, Dr(Mrs) Omolola Adeagbo in his Office  emphasized that routine immunization is very essential for wards, from birth to 15months. In a chat with the Press Officer in the Ministry, Mrs.Segilola Babalola, the Epidemiologist also disclosed  that Osun State has recorded one case of Diphtheria disease outbreak in Ilesa East Local Government Area of the State earlier this year. 2023 General Election: Gov. Adeleke urges Police to allow people choose their leaders

Osun Governor, Adeleke approves new transport management system for Osun

Sunday Okunade Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has announced a new transport management system for Osun state with a triple objectives of securing the motor parks, creating thousands of jobs and increasing the state's internally generated revenue.  Sunday Okunade  The Committee on Chieftaincy Affairs today submitted the report of the findings regarding the installation of traditional rulers, in different towns in Osun, after July 16, 2022 governorship election in the State to the Governor. The Committee, which was inaugurated on the 29th November, 2022, was saddled with the responsibilities of looking into matters arising from the installation of the monarchs with a view to settling the grievances that erupted in some of the major towns due to rejection by the royal families in the towns concerned.
